Rhetorical Analysis 2

In mt analysis of two articles i chose to talk about watches that are being portrayed to different types of people one being from a sports illustrated magazine and the other being from a car and driver magazine. The first ad is showing a sport type watch its sleek and has a guy kicking a soccor ball in the background and is being appealed to a younger audience. The second watch comes from the car and driver magazine and it appeals to an older and wealthier audience the man wearing the watch looks as if he has money he is dressed nicely and has his own airplane.

AD 1
Sports Illustrated
Younger and sporty audience
Durable sporty watch
The target consumer has the values of being an athletic person and wants to have a durable and strong watch because this type of watch meets the requirements of an athletic person. The watch can provide the costumer  with a piece of mind that he has a durable watch. This watch can make the person feel as if they have the newest watch on the market.

AD2
Car and Driver
older and richer audience
Very nice high end watch
the target consumer has the have the values of wanting to look nice and have high quality things.the consumer should buy this because this watch meets the expectations of a buy in the same market as the Rolex. It will provide the knowledge that its is an expensive but elegant lasting watch. this watch has the ability to make its owner feel that he is wearing a piece of art on his wrist and it was made for him.

  1. These are both pretty opposite ads. I like the choices. The classy ad seems to be the more common of the two types of ad just because the sporty one is impossible to make different from Nike.
